Catalogue Note

The content of the present quatrain praises a high-ranking official, probably a grand-vizier. The calligrapher appears to be Mehmed Said Ibn Ahmed, a famous pupil of Hoca Mehmed Rasim Efendi. He was celebrated for his mastery in the six pens and died in Istanbul in 1721.
