Description

  • leather paper ink bound
Arabic manuscript on paper, 272 leaves plus 2 flyleaves, 13 lines to the page, written in naskh script in black ink, verses separated by pointed gold roundels, catchwords, surah headings in blue against gold ground foliate panels, margins ruled in colours and gold, opening double page illuminated frontispiece in colours and gold, flyleaf with old collector's label "2274, 325", f.2b to 8b with outer margins filled with large gold leafy sprays, green doublures with pressure-moulded grapevine design, later binding with gold trelliswork boards, with flap 

Condition

In good overall condition, flap repaired, some smudging to opening frontispiece and final pages, occasional minor tears, leaves generally clean otherwise, as viewed.
