A fine and rare Safavid tinned-copper covered bowl signed by Shaykh ‘Abdullah, Persia, dated 928 AH/1521 AD

of globular, faceted form with thick everted rim and fitted lid with wide palmette handle, finely engraved near the shoulder with calligraphic cartouches and arabesque motifs, the lid with en-suite decoration, with date '928' on body

In general fairly good condition, the body with some knocks and abrasions, drill hole to top of lid and and bottom of basin, as viewed.
