Description

  • steel, silver, velvet covered wood scabbard
the slightly curved watered-steel blade with flat back edge, two gold inscriptions in cartouches along both faces of the blade, engraved medallions near forte with maker's name, the silver hilt tooled with floral designs on a gilt background, with velvet-covered wooden scabbard with two silver suspension bands and mount with gilt decoration

Condition

In fairly good condition, very minor oxidisation to blade, some scratches and rubbing to gilding and decoration on hilt, the scabbard with ware to velvet and oxidisation and rubbing to metal mounts, it is possible that one of the inscriptions may have been added as a later addition, as viewed.
