oil on canvas, in gilt-wood frame, two metal plaques fixed to reverse of stretcher reading "Sultan Abdul Medschid" and "CRETIUS", alongside an old collection label in German numbered '341' and stating the name 'Cretius' and 'Abdul Maschid', further label with intertwining crest
Condition
In good overall condition, craquelure to the painted surface, minor paint losses to canvas edges, minor losses and abrasions to frame, under UV light appear horizontal lines of retouching near the bottom and top edges, small area of consolidation and overpainting above couch, as viewed.
