Condition
In overall good conserved condition. Colour less orange overall slightly darker and more natural and attractive than in the catalogue photograph with good colour contrast of the various woods. There are some very old minor chips and scratches to the marble which are hardly noticeable. Evidence of old minor worm which appears to be no longer active. There are some filled round holes on the dividers between the drawers and inside the top drawer of one which can not be explained. The commode on the left has some minor chips to the veneer on the rear left stile but these can easily be restored and there is a break in the right scroll of the apron mount as visible from the catalogue photograph which can either be left or easily resoldered. The rear sabots and chutes are of later date but the rest of the mounts are 18th century.
