in the form of a female bust with plaits supporting a later fruit and foliate wicker basket on her head, the tapering stem carved with c-scrolls suspending a berried laurel and floral swag supported on each side by a standing cherub on a plinth base the front carved with a scrolled cartouche on an associated concave-sided plinth carved with scrolls on paw feet

Condition

In overall good conserved condition. The colour is darker overall and more attractive than in the catalogue photograph. Old restorations eg to both sides of the central scroll on the stem. Some fingers of the cherubs are missing. The front foot of the left cherub is missing and rear left foot of same one is partially missing due to old worm damage. Old marks, chips and age cracks generally and evidence of old worm which appears to be no longer active.
