- sofa: 104cm. wide; table 73cm. high, 48cm. diameter; 3ft. 5in., 2ft. 4¾in., 1ft. 6¾in.
comprising a two seater sofa and two armchairs each with a back and seat in the form of a stylised scallopshell, the arms in the form of a dolphin, the legs carved with a conch shell together with an Italian lacquer and mecca guéridon table late 19th century, the top as a scallopshell on three dolphin supports joined by a stretcher applied with three scallopshells; gilding partially refreshed
Condition
In overall good conserved condition. The gilding is worn in places as visible from photograph and has suffered losses and touching up especially on sofa and armchairs. The gilding is nicely worn to the red bole in places and has been varnished. There are old marks and several scratches as visible from the catalogue photograph. The arms have been restored where they meet the back and the legs have been reblocked. The colour of the table top is paler than the rest and is possibly associated.
