- A small hardstone box with gold and enamel cagework mounts, London, mid 18th century
- gold, enamel, agate
- 3 cm., 1 1/4 in. high
of slightly tapering octagonal form panelled with banded grey agate, the lid bordered with openwork leafy scrolls, the sides with garland-hung pilasters, the white enamel collar inscribed: Votre amitiƩ me rend heureux
Condition
Very slight chipping to enamel; repairs to two tears on upper rim at back and hinge pin slightly slipped. Otherwise good condition and generally good impression.
