rectangular, the lid with an enamel plaque depicting two nymphs and Cupid within interlaced opaque black, blue and white taille d'épargne ribbon and leaf borders, echoed on the base, framing a black enamel panel, the sides also with black enamel panel within simpler opaque blue and white enamel borders, faint traces of marks inside cover, overstruck contemporary Vienna control mark

both panels on lid and base probably restored, otherwise good condition.
