Description
- sapele veneered plywood, stained pine, ebony, brass, steel, glass
the 8-day fusee movement with seconds beating lever escapement and large bi-metallic balance, a remontoire acting on the escape wheel, the orrery mounted above the timepiece and indicating the time on a silvered twelve-hour chapter ring, date on the silvered outer ring and times of sunrise and sunset (Mean Time at 53ยบ30' North) on silvered sectors, from the central sun the Earth rotates on its axis and the moon rotates around the Earth, the five visible planets, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn rotate in real time around the sun, the tripod base mounted on a sapele veneered hexagonal plinth, the moulded frieze with a brass drawer containing winder and manual crank, with a glazed cover; together with a transit case
Condition
In very good almost as-new condition but the timepiece is not running due to being rather dirty and requiring a clean and fresh oil. One glass panel loose in glazed cover which will require repair. The plywood transit case in rather poor scruffy condition.
