Description

  • Brass, copper, steel
  • 21.6cm. 8½in. high
1¾-inch dial with silvered chapter ring and touch pieces, later centre and minute hand, the posted two train movement with lipped barrels and chain fusees, now with cylinder platform escapement, lacking alarm train, count wheel striking on a bell, the case with turned finial and pierced dome above leaf-capped pilasters and panels engraved with scrolls and strapwork, the rear with hour indication dial, the moulded base similarly engraved and raised on ball feet

Condition

Dial centre replaced due to removal of alarm, later minute hand, hour hand replaced. Movement extensively re-trained above the fusees, later cylinder platform escapement, alarm train completely removed, it will require service and overhaul. Case gilding rubbed in places but otherwise good, slot cut in frieze for escapement regulator, alarm winding hole now blocked, hour indicating hand replaced, feet replaced. No winder.
