each of rectangular form with stylised scallopshell cresting, two scrolled giltwood candelarms, the frame carved with rocaille, scrolls, flowers and foliage, bearing a red wax seal on the reverse,`Vittorio Emanuele II King of Italy'
Provenance
Probably the Royal Palace in Naples.
Condition
In overall good conserved condition. Good colour match with catalogue photograph. Nice craquelure to the gilding which has some wear in places as visible from the photograph. Minor chips to gilding which is nicely worn to the red bole in places. Old minor restorations to carving e.g top of the cresting of both one of which would benefit from some minor touching up to the gilding. There are construction cracks at the joints as visible from the catalogue photograph which can be left and some scattered age cracks which are normal. Evidence of old minor worm which appears to be no longer active.
