painted in colours with a spray of a tulip and chrysanthemum flanked by moths, insects and flower sprigs, the flat cover with a crabstock handle, painter's mark in iron-red to rim of pot, iron-red B mark to flange of cover,

This unusual form of decoration can be compared with that on a Bow teapot and a milk jug that were in the Bernard Watney collection, sold at Phillips London, 22nd September 1999, lots 17 and 18.
