Description
- PORCELAIN
- 11cm., 4 3/8 in. high
naturalistically modelled as six green-edged, puce-veined leaves, the spout formed as a leaf, with a vine handle,
Condition
Teapot:
There are three separate hairline cracks to the body of the pot, each of which has been secured with a rivet. Two are located to the left of the handle, one is located under the spout.
Cover:
There is a chip to the flange and a flat chip to the edge of the rim.

Catalogue Note
Seemingly un-recorded in the literature, this rare teapot can be compared with two known examples of the same form, one from The Property of Dr. and Mrs. Statham, was sold at Sotheby's London, 16th October 1956, lot 104, published by Bernard Watney, Longton Hall Porcelain, 1957, p. 40. pl. 46B; the second from The Property of a Nobleman, was sold at Christie's London, 12th October 1987, lot 202.
