Catalogue Note

Created in 1928 this brooch was presented at the first exhibition of the Union des Artists Modernes, the group founded by Gérard Sandoz with other designers and avant-garde architects. Jewellery creations by Sandoz reflect his taste for modern art. Together with Jean Fouquet, Raymond Templier and Jean Puiforcat, Sandoz formed the avant-garde of the new generation with resolutely contemporary and sensationally modern aesthetics.
