The condition is consistent with age and use. The upholstery seems to be the original silk fabric and therefore the condition is reflective of typical aging for this material. One chair with (right side in catalogue illustration) with expected loss to the silk in the piping of the chair back. The light hue of the satin upholstery with surfactant dirt throughout, particularly at the upper back rest. The second chair (left side in catalogue illustration) with patchy losses to the original silk of the upper seat back exposing the chair padding and some threading loss at the front quarter of the seat cushion. Some surface dirt throughout, but largely concentrated to the backrest. The wood of the chairs remains in very good condition with minor wear, mostly concentrated to the feet. Especially one crack to the front right foot (visible to the catalogue's illustration) and the whole structure of the same chair that is glued and restored underneath
