Description

  • Gilt-bronze
debout en pratyalidhasana sur un socle lotiforme fondu séparément, les deux bras principaux tenant un couperet et une calotte crânienne, enlaçant sa parèdre à six bras, ses quatre autres bras levés avec les mains en karana mudra, la tête à trois visages aux expressions effrayantes surmontée d'une tiare de crânes, la chevelure dressée abritant une pointe de vajra et un serpent, scellé (2)

Acquired in China in the early 1900s by a French military (by repute).

Condition

The figure is heavily cast and richly gilt, the base and figure cast separately, the base open. There is very minor wear to the gilding and at least two of the attributes held in hands are missing.
