Description

  • Gilt-bronze, cloisonne enamel, champlevé enamel
de forme circulaire, reposant sur une base lotiforme en bronze doré, le couvercle aux côtés droits décoré de quatre nuages stylisés se détachant d'un fond bleu turquoise parsemé de petits nuages multicolores, surmonté d'un dragon enroulé en émaux champlevés (2)

Condition

Box and cover are very heavy and in overall very good condition. There is very minor wear to the heavy gilding on the base and sides. There is a ca. 0.5 cm large area of loss to the enamels on the ankle of one foot of the dragon and one claw of another foot is missing. There are minor losses to the enamels across the body, the largest ca. 0.5x05cm. The lid is very slightly leaning to one side. The base may be associated.
