sur fond jaune, chacun brodé de deux dragons affrontés représentés de profil parmi les nuages en volutes encadrant un caractère shou dans un médaillon central au-dessus de trois rochers surgissant des flots tumultueux emportant des objets auspicieux (3)

Acquired by Vice-Amiral Jean-Joseph-Gaston de Percin in China prior to 1925.
Thence by descent in the family.

Condition

The two larger panels are fixed together horizontally, they are backed on canvas which has been stretched accross a frame. The silk is worn along the upper and side borders as visible on catalogue illustration. The silk is even torn and missing to the upper left and right corners. The yellow ground is faded and with overall wear and small tears. Severall gold threads are coming off the surface to the dragons, waves and clouds. There are losses to the silk embroidery. There is a red stain to the right panel. The third panel : the silk is backed on canvas and mounted onto a board. There are overall losses to the silk along the lower edges, there are loose gold threads and the silk is faded. Some small stains to the right hand side of the panel.
