Description

  • wood

Condition

The figure is missing its left hand. There are minor losses to the raised parts of the carving, i.e. the nosed, the hand, the edges of the robe folds, the toes, the lotus leaves on the base. There are vertical splits to the wood (visible in the catalogue illustration). The back of the figure is uncarved. The letters P23B are inscribed in red on the lower back of the figure. The wood is patinated to a richer and darker tone than the catalogue illustration suggests.
