Provenance

Acquired in China between 1894 and 1922.
Thence in the family by descent.

Condition

The double vase is in overall good condition. There are minute fritts to the rims, foot and raised parts of the design. There is a ca. 1x0.5cm wide natural flaw or bruise to the rope band on one corner of the object and a ca. 1cm large russet patch in the stone above one dragon on the same side of the vase (both visible in the catalogue illustration). The stone is of celadon tone and polished to a soft shine.
