Good condition overall. Wear consistent with age and use within the culture: Minor marks, nicks, scratches and small chips consistent with age and use. Very old loss of material to the neck and top of the head.

Cette statuette nkisi se singularise par la plénitude de son style naturaliste et par sa gestuelle, rarement représentée dans l'univers Kongo. Selon Raoul Lehuard (Art Bakongo, Les centres de style, 1989, vol. 1, p. 115), "l'attitude simbidila se prend en posant les mains sur le ventre, de part et d'autre de l'ombilic, en adressant une prière secrète, une invocation".
