"Les figurines anthropomorphes [des Lega] présentent des degrés radicalement différents de dimension, d'extrême diversité de formes abstraites, de morphologies inhabituelles, de sobriété des traits" (Biebuyck, Lega, Ethique et Beauté au cœur de l'Afrique, 2002, p. 118).
