Condition

This work is in very good conditions. Compared to the catalogue illustration the colours are brighter. In correspondence of the upper right light blue area there is a short and superficial vertical scratch (2.5 cm). On the left upper turquoise area there is a very small area in which the paint is thicker due to the artist's technique. Under UV light is visible few retouching along the right lower edge in the green pigment area.

Catalogue Note

"During the XIXth century aestethic researches focused on the autonomy of lines and colours and their ability to express emotions whether the things they were representing. The artists demonstrated that the line was considered a vehicle of sensations instead of contour of things. Contemporary painters took inspiration from this consideration of line and focused on peinture’s abstract potentiality and expression. Dorazio has for sure a leading role for these painters." (Nathalie Vernizzi, A proposito di un iconografia dell'astrattismo, p. 42, exhibition cat., Piero Dorazio Gli anni Sessanta, Milan 1998)
