Catalogue Note

Corinna Turati e Rinaldo Rossi

Alighiero Boetti loved airplanes he was totally fascinated by them,  he would trace them wherever he viewed one of them.
The Folder Insicuro Noncurante could not omit to include this  pure
passion of the artist, as pure as a child passion: each sheet 78 depicts
airplanes’ traced shapes that always differed  from each other taken
directly from newspapers and magazines. The title refers to the official
magazine of the Italian Aviation, named Aviazione oggi (Aviation today).
The official character is fundamental and recurs as a guarantee seal.
In 1977, the Collezionista di Roma gallery, opened an exhibition
called “Aerei” (Airplanes) that showed Boetti’s airplanes drawn by the Italian
architect and comic-strip artist Guido Fuga. These three panels are
exceptionally beautiful, the ball point trace is incredibly  well
amalgamated and compound like the texture of a clear sky; seen all together
these airplanes seem to draw a horizon closed on the lower and upper margins and overflowing  from both sides leading to a potential infinite as if the airplanes could fly away from the surface.
