Just a few details about Mir Hussein al-Sahavi al-Tabrizi's life are known. He is recorded to have lived in Tabriz until the Ottoman conquest, afterward he left the city and moved to Kashan, stayed there until at least 1588-89. According to Qadi Ahmed, he eventually left Kashan for India where he stayed until his death. He is reputed to have the closest handwriting to that of Mir 'Ali (M. Bayani, Ahval va-Asar-e Khoshnevisan, vol.I, Tehran, 1988, pp. 153-4).
