the triangular base with bead-and-reel ornament along the edges, each side decorated with a different scene in relief, Herakles wearing the lion skin, holding his club, and plucking the Apples of the Hesperides, a dancing satyr with head thrown back, wearing a goat skin,and bringing an offering vessel to an altar, and a figure of Eros shooting his bow, a garment at his feet, the shaft composed of three parts each emerging from an acanthus calyx, the lower one decorated with a pattern of overlapping leaves and berries, the bowl a later restoration.

Condition

Appears to have been restored more than once in both marble and in plaster. Parts are 18th/19th century including the entire white marble base and feet, the top section of the upper base carved with the reliefs (above the figures), the inverted calyx, the central section of the three-part shaft, and the concave bowl on top (9 inches in diameter). Lesser repairs and restorations overall. The relief scenes were repolished.
