Catalogue Note

Linton (or Lindon) Park was an artist, also thought to be a lumberjack or wood-cutter, chiefly because of the frequency with which these scenes appear in his artwork.  He was born in Marion Center, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, at a time when the area was frontier wilderness.
