Condition
Canvas is lined. SURFACE: good condition, generally; shiny, old varnish UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: inpainting throughout; while most of the foreground (fruit) is clean, there is a long, horizontal line that runs across much of the center of work--repaired tear or heavy crack (?); several repaired tears, cracqelure fill-in, spots, etc.; center area (fruits, etc) was cleaned at one time, as this area is clear, whereas darks in background appear to have been left under old varnish and are more opaque
