Literature

Condition
Overall in very good original condition. The patina presents with a rich dark brown color and delicate silver detailing to the berries. The bronze surfaces with minor surface scratches, a few minor edge abrasions, light surface dirt and minor rubbing to the raised portions of the design, consistent with age and gentle use. The glass shade with a few shallow surface scratches and surface dirt, concentrated to the parts of the shade that have been in contact with the base. A great example of a highly detail and naturalistic design by Edgar Brandt. The rich orange coloration of the shade contrasts beautifully with the painterly patina of the bronze base.
