Catalogue Note
A rare and early Modernist form, this chair possesses cylindrical legs in a noble wood paired with an over-stuffed form, enveloping the sitter. One can see the inspiration and subsequent link of this form in designs of the mid-century, most notably Jean Royère's 'Copenhague' chair of 1955.
This model was first exhibited at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition, 1941 and is referenced in the Design Museum Danmark Furniture Index under RP08218.
