Provenance

Private collection, Brussels (acquired from the artist)

Condition

The canvas has not been lined and there are some small undulations to the left framing edge. There is a light vertical surface abrasion in one of the lemons to the right, and a small dent next to the fourth lemon to the right. Signs of uneven fluorescence are visible under ultra-violet light, notably in the red pigments in the lower half of the composition and in the Chinese lanterns, however these appear to be the artist's pigments. The picture is otherwise in good original condition and is ready to hang. Presented in a gilt frame.
