Condition
The board is even and ensuring a stable support. There is a hairline pattern of drying craquelure in the paint surface, primarily in the sky (visible in the catalogue illustration). Ultra-violet light reveals a relatively even varnish layer and some minor spots of retouching, notably spots addressing craquelure in the foliage in the middle-distance and in the tree just below the figures. This work is in good overall condition.
The colours are more luminous overall in reality than in the catalogue illustration, which is too dark.
Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
