Catalogue Note

The Star of Peace was an Aberdeen Clipper built in 1855 and weighing 113 tons (this information also faintly inscribed by Dawson on the work's reverse).  The clipper made a number of passages between London and Sydney before being broken up at Thursday Island in 1895.
