Overall the condition of the marble is very good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is veining to the marble consistent with the material, including a few small veins at the chest. There are several naturally occurring inclusions in the marble, including to the chest, the chin, and the trunk at the back, where some of the inclusions are filled. There are a few scratches to the trunk of the bust at the back. There is rust coloured stain due to an inclusion to one of the curls at the back. There are several chips and losses to the black marble base, including a large loss to the front right corner.
