Condition

Overall the condition of the bronze is good with some dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is some moisture staining to the base. The gilt patina is worn in areas. A few original casting pins are slightly visible, including to the man's and the woman's proper left forearms and the woman's chest. There are several small lacunae, including to the woman's face. There are a few splashes of white paint, including to the man's proper left calf, the front of his legs, the woman's waist, the man's sandals, and the base. There are a few minor areas of greening, including to the fold of cloth at the man's back, his proper left elbow and the crevices of the sandals. There are a few minor scratches, including to the woman's cheek. The underside is padded with pieces of felt which are slightly visible at the edges.
