Overall the condition of the marble is good with dirt and some wear to the surface consistent with age. There is some particular dirt in the crevices, and there are several dirt marks, in particular to the chest, the top of the head, above the signature at the back, to the proper right ear, the back of the hair, and to the proper left shoulder and the truncation at the proper right shoulder. There are a few splashes of white paint, including to the hair, the back, and below the proper right breast. There is veining to the marble throughout consistent with the material, notably dark veins running horizontally across the neck, chest and arms. There are a few small naturally occurring inclusions, including to the neck. There are several chips and abrasions to the truncation of the bust at the front and back. There are a few minor scratches, including to the neck and to the top of the hair. There is a shallow hole to the top of the head.
