• the movements: cal. 215 PS manual winding nickel lever movement with seal of Geneva, 18 jewels, Gyromax balance • the cases: rectangular platinum cases, beveled bezels and lugs, sapphire case backs secured by 4 screws • the dials: polychrome cloisonné enamel dials depicting a dog within a scroll and floral border, the four dials with combinations of white/gold, brown/green, red/gold, and blue/gold enamel

Condition

Movements running at time of cataloging, however they were not tested for the accuracy of time and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Cases are all in very good condition with no noticeable scratches, scuffs or swirls. Dials in excellent condition.

Catalogue Note

All accompanied by the Certificate of Origin, a presentation box, and a leather documents folder.

The present set was made in celebration of the Year of the Dog in the Chinese Zodiac calendar. The last occurence of this year was 2007 and the next will be in 2019. The extremely fine and richly colored cloisonné enamel work exemplifies the best work of Patek Philippe's most talented enamelists. 

The references that Patek Philippe has released in similar themes are Refs. 5075, a circular model with an enlarged bezel in 2000, Ref. 5076, the present rectangular model in 2003, and Ref. 5077, a circular example in 2007. Themes explored include sailboats, exotic flowers, Venetian masks, tropical fish and birds.
