  • A VERY RARE YELLOW GOLD HUNTING CASED WATCH WITH REGULATOR DIAL AND STOP-SECONDSNO 5750 CIRCA 1900

• manual winding jeweled nickel lever movement, some jewels set in gold chatons, engraved balance bridge, gold escape wheel • gilt dial, Roman numerals, outer minute track with Arabic numerals and 1/5th seconds divisions, subsidiary dial for the seconds • 18k yellow gold hunting case, both sides engine turned, reeded bezel, pusher at 11 for chronograph • case, dial, and movement signed

Condition

Movement not running at time of cataloging, and will need restoration at the buyer's discretion. Case is in good condition with loss to the engine turning from wear to the edges. Dial in fair condition with dirt and spotting overall, oxidation to the edges. Movement in fair condition with some oxidation to the plates, spotting to some wheels and in need of service. This lot is an extremely rare example of a Lange hunting cased watch.

The present lot is an extremely rare example of a regulator watch by Lange with a stop-seconds function for accurate setting of the time. An identical movement, No. 5743, is illustrated in Huber, M., and Verlag, C., Die Uhren von A. Lange & Söhne Glashütte/Sachsen, p. 84 - 85.
