Catalogue Note

With an Extract from the Archives confirming date of sale on 1 May 1990. With a presentation box.

Ref. 3960 was released to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Patek Philippe in 1989 as the first production limited edition wristwatch by the company. The series was made in an edition of a total 2200 examples: 2000 in yellow gold, 150 in white gold and 50 in platinum.

With demand far greater than the available numbers, the series immediately increased in value on the secondary market and can be considered as the model responsible for collectability of all subsequent limited edition watches.
