- A VERY FINE AND RARE GILT AND SHAGREEN OPEN FACED TRIPLE CASED WATCH MADE FOR THE TURKISH MARKETNO 42436 CIRCA 1790
- gilt, shagreen
- diameter 48 mm
• gilt verge movement, balance cock pierced and engraved with scrolls • white enamel dial with Turkish numerals, beetle and poker hands • first case polished with hinged bezel and back, second case engraved with a floral trophy, the bezel engraved with scrolls, completed by a shagreen outer case, borders decorated with rondels, within a scrolling studded border • dial and movement signed
Condition
The present lot contains endangered species which is subject to United States Fish & Wildlife Services restrictions upon international export. The time frame for shipment outside the United States is approximately 3-5 weeks.
Balance oscillates however requires a cleaning to run properly.
Case in very good condition with shagreen remaining vibrant and overall intact. Some wear to the edges. Dial in fair condition with light hairlines and wear to the edges. Crystal needs to be replaced.
