Catalogue Note

First edition; first printing; first state, with pages 349-352 integral. with Fitzgerald’s initialed corrections to the first state errors, a marginal note, and a presentation inscription: "For Bob Spafford / from his friend / F Scott Fitzgerald / Baltimore, 1935."

The existence of this copy indicates that the textual errors on pages 350 and 351 of the first printing were perhaps discovered by Fitzgerald himself, who read published copies of his books carefully. Here he corrects in red pencil, complete with an exclamation and initials.

Fitzgerald’s works with any textual corrections in his hand are truly scarce on the market.
