Catalogue Note
A fine collection of plates from works by this prolific botanist, arranged in systematic order and with further contemporary botanical annotations. Buc’hoz (1731-1807) published a number of works, many including plates engraved from the original drawings in the Collection des vélins in the Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris. In many cases these are the first and only published form of these drawings. Works apparently represented in this collection include Herbier ou collection des plantes médicinales de la Chine (1781, title-page bound in), the Jardin d’Eden (1783), and the Collection precieuse et enluminée des fleurs (1776-1779).
