Oblong 4to (226 x 315mm.), 45 albumen prints (190 x 255mm., or the reverse), about 10 signed by Salzwedel in the negative, mounted on thick card, recto and verso, nearly all captioned in ink on the mount, the mounts joined by cloth and folding concertina-style, contemporary green half morocco boards, fading and spotting, card mounts brittle and chipped (one mount with tear extending into two images), mounts detached, boards slightly worn

The album includes scenes and sites in Peking (Beijing), Amoy, Ningbo, Hangzhou, Suzhou, and elsewhere. Salzwedel worked as a photographer in China and Indonesia from the 1870s to c.1900.
