Catalogue Note

VERY RARE. The only complete copy we have traced as sold at auction was in these rooms 27 June, 1996, lot 5. The work was never completed and the collation of this work is uncertain, but this copy satisfies the collations given by Nissen (and indeed exceeds them). The contents of this set is as follows:

Historique, 2 text volumes with [2], 360; [4], 492pp. and atlas with 42 lithographed plates (mainly views), 12 hand-coloured, folding map and folding plan
Zoologie, text volume with xxxix, 535pp. and atlas with 40 hand-coloured engraved plates
