Catalogue Note

This was the last collaboration between the publisher John Ogilby and Wenceslas Hollar, who had worked together since 1652. The original Dutch version had been published in Leiden in 1665 with fine plates by Jacob de Meurs, which were closely copied for this edition. The plates include town views, natural history, costume and religious subjects.

Also included is an English adaptation of Athanasius Kircher's work on China.
