Three parts in one volume, folio (475 x 310mm.), 156 double-page engraved mapsheets, fine dark impressions, contemporary annotations in ink on some margins, contemporary calf, some occasional marginal soiling, a few maps lightly browned, binding slightly stained

The three parts comprise:



Theatrum, engraved title with the arms of Phillip II of Spain on verso, engraved epitaph incorporating a miniature portrait of Ortelius, engraved portrait of Ortelius and 118 mapsheets
Parergon, printed title within woodblock architectural border and 38 mapsheets
Nomenclator Ptolemaicus, printed title and engraved vignette





A fine example of this Latin edition published by Jan Baptist Vrients. It is one of the most complete issues of the Theatrum and includes both the 'Parergon' and 'Nomenclator'.
