Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 25 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout, which is a relatively low number in proportion to the vast number of glass tiles which were required to execute this large and complex shade. All of these hairlines appear stable. With surface soiling throughout to the recessed folds of the glass and to the recessed contours of the shade leading. The shade leading is beautifully rendered with very refined lines and displays a particularly rich green and russet brown patina. The base also displays an exceptionally rich green patina with russet brown highlights. The patinated bronze surfaces with light surface wear, rubbing, and some occasional scattered traces of surface residue and white paint specks. Each of the three sockets and paddle switches appear original and undisturbed. The "spring" mechanisms on the paddle switches are no longer catching/clicking; regardless each of the sockets and paddles are still fully functional. With a period "Tear-Drop" finial that displays a closely corresponding patina to the base. The bottom perimeter border of the finial is slightly irregular with some shallow indentations and one small bruise. A beautiful example of this dynamic Poinsettia model displaying a highly artistic and well-varied glass selection. The poinsettia blossoms are articulated in a full range of brilliant hues ranging from deep reds and magentas to rich purples and lavender, and the flower centers are thoughtfully accented in a wide range of jewel tones. When viewing this lamp firsthand the colors are more nuanced and richer than seen in the catalogue illustration.
