Condition

Overall in very good condition. With some small and minute air bubble inclusions, and with a few minute open air bubbles, all inherent in the making and not at all visually detracting. The exterior surfaces with some occasional light and fine surface scratches most prevalent to the outermost contours of the vase. With traces of very light surface soiling to the lower interior. An outstanding example of the firm's most accomplished work in the carved cameo technique. When viewed in the round, the vase's fluid composition of the finely carved blossoms, lily pads and foliage interspersed with sinuous vines impart a strong aquatic sensibility. The lyrical green vines and rich plum-brown linear decoration further heighten the vase's visual interest and pictorial depth. The coloration of the blossoms, foliage and vines are slightly more vibrant and saturated than seen in the catalogue illustrations.
